La Fundación Desarrollando Talentos es una organización sin fines de lucro que propone la transformación integral de las vidas de niños y jóvenes en situaciones vulnerables, mediante el desarrollo de sus talentos.
Sus directores, el arquitecto Gerardo Díaz y la Licenciada Azucena Mora, contribuyen a la cultura curridabatense y a la preservación de las tradiciones mediante el desarrollo de talleres artísticos y deportivos.
Como parte de su misión de preservar las tradiciones costarricenses, ha desarrollado una serie de talleres con la participación de vecinos de la comunidad de Curridabat, con el objetivo de formar una nueva generación de mascareros.
Don Gerardo Díaz y doña Azucena Mora, directores de la Fundación, también se graduaron como mascareros.
Estas jornadas de especialización, lideradas por el reconocido profesor y mascarero don Alfonso “Pocho” Vega, permitieron a los participantes adquirir las habilidades necesarias para elaborar mascaradas tradicionales, un arte que forma parte fundamental de nuestra identidad cultural.
Gracias a este esfuerzo, Curridabat celebra con orgullo a sus nuevos mascareros: Rafael Mora, Maikol Solano, Arnold Román, Cristian Mora y los directores de la fundación Azucena Mora y Gerardo Díaz, quienes han demostrado gran talento, compromiso y amor por nuestras raíces.
Las mascaradas creadas en estos talleres serán protagonistas en la tradicional Diana a San Antonio, una de las actividades más representativas de las fiestas patronales en honor a San Antonio de Padua, patrono de Curridabat.
El famoso mascarero Pocho Vega fue el maestro encargado de impartir el taller.
