ACTUALIZACIÓN: (22-11-2025) Junta Directiva del CCDRC no podrá sesionar válidamente hasta que se complete el quorum de ese órgano, hecho que podría ocurrir posiblemente hasta en febrero de 2026.
Así lo recomendó la asesoría legal del Concejo Municipal y la Comisión de Cultura, tras conocer una moción de varios regidores que solicitaban una autorización al respecto.
La situación se confirmó el martes 18 de noviembre anterior, a pesar de la presencia y presión de vecinos en la sesión del Concejo Municipal y el ambiente de alta tensión que se generó.
(12-11-2025) Tras casi un año de funcionamiento “normal”, la renuncia de, Dora Beatriz Soto, Secretaria de la Junta Directiva del Comité Cantonal de Deporte y Recreación (CCDRC) sumió al ente en nueva crisis.
El problema se genera debido a que una norma del reglamento del Comité establece que, si la Junta no se encuentra totalmente integrada, “no es posible realizar sesiones” (Artículo 20 del Reglamento).
El pasado 11 de noviembre, decenas de vecinos y familias que participan en los diferentes programas del CCDRC, así como miembros de la Junta Directiva de ese órgano, se presentaron a la sesión del Concejo Municipal a solicitar autorización a mantener sesiones válidas mientras se realiza el nombramiento respectivo.
Desde El Monitor cubrimos el acontecimiento, dada la relevancia y afectación que produciría la paralización del CCDRC y, sobre todo, porque hace rato en Curridabat no veíamos semejante movilización ante el órgano colegiado.
El ambiente se llenó de tensión debido a la polarización ya existente en el Concejo, donde cinco regidores y regidoras (Oscar Mora, Ingrid Molina, Cindy Hernández, Alberto Fernández y Bolívar Jiménez) controlan por mayoría las decisiones de ese órgano.
Este grupo envió a comisión una moción que proponía la autorización al CCDRC para sesionar, aumentando la molestia de los proponentes y vecinos presentes, quienes urgían una pronta solución.
El CCDRC es un órgano dependiente del Concejo Municipal y maneja un presupuesto que ronda los ¢500 millones anuales, provenientes de un 3% de los ingresos de la Municipalidad.
El CCDRC administra las instalaciones del Estadio Lito Monge y las canchas de Cipreses, Granadilla, Barrio San José y José María Zeledón; asimismo ofrece diversos programas deportivos para las comunidades y organiza la participación de equipos y atletas en los Juegos Deportivos Nacionales.
La Junta Directiva tiene representación de organizaciones deportivas, comunales y del Concejo Municipal, entre otros. Presta sus servicios ad honorem, es decir, sin pago de dietas.
