Nuestras más sinceras felicitaciones a la Escuela de Cipreses y a la representación del Colegio Técnico de Tirrases por su exitosa participación en el Concurso Antorcha, organizado por la Dirección Regional de San José Norte, del MEP.
En la categoría de Primaria, la escuela de Cipreses llegó a la final a enfrentarse con la poderosa escuela privada “Amadita” del cantón de Vázquez de Coronado.
Cipreses lo dio todo, aunque al final fueron superados por tiempo por la escuela Amadita.
En secundaria, el CTP Uladislao Gámez, de Tirrases, también llegó a la final, aunque fue superado por el Técnico de Calle Blancos.
Curridabat participó como cantón invitado a competir con escuelas y colegios de la región norte, entre los que se encuentras escuelas y colegios públicos y privados de los cantones de Goicochea y Coronado.
Este concurso Antorcha emula una competencia muy famosa en nuestro país que se realizaba en los años 80 con la participación de colegios de todo el país y que era transmitido por el Canal 13.
